The Chief of Staff and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs oversees the Division of Academic Affairs budgeting, resource allocation, full-time faculty and faculty professional position control, adjunct faculty and graduate student payroll administration, faculty appointment letters, workload analysis, review and approval of administrative agreements, and special project and management studies.
Vice Provost for Academic Affairs

The Vice Provost for Academic Affairs is responsible for overseeing program development, program review, academic student support initiatives, undergraduate studies, the Center for High Impact Practices, the Center for Advising Administration and Academic Partnerships, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment, and the Center for Cybersecurity Education and Research.
Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Strategic Initiatives
Yvette Pearson, Ph.D.
The Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Strategic Initiatives oversees the administration of faculty appointments; faculty policies and procedures; the Old Dominion University Teaching and Research Faculty Handbook; new faculty orientation; mentoring programs for faculty, chairs, and deans; teaching awards and faculty recognition programs; faculty development; faculty recruitment and retention; Quality Enhancement Plan initiatives; and other strategic initiatives within the Division of Academic Affairs.
Vice Provost and University Registrar
Carrie John
The Vice Provost and University Registrar oversee the systems and processes for student registration and course scheduling. She is responsible for the optimization of course scheduling and classroom usage, graduation certification, diploma issuance, and transcripts for all current and former students at ODU.
Dean of the Graduate School
Marisol Perez, Ph.D.
The Dean of the Graduate School oversees and supports the graduate programs, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows by coordinating and optimizing available resources and advocating for new resources. To ensure policies and practices are developed and applied across the University's academic colleges while advocating for graduate education.
