Exercise is Medicine® On Campus (EIM-OC) is a global health initiative developed by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) that encourages colleges and universities to promote physical activity as a vital component of overall health and well-being.
At Old Dominion University, Exercise is Medicine® On Campus connects students with evidence-based movement opportunities that support physical health, mental well-being, academic success, and lifelong healthy habits. Through partnerships across campus, EIM-OC provides accessible programs and resources that encourage every Monarch to find enjoyable and sustainable ways to stay active.

Referral Program
Learn how students can participate in Exercise is Medicine® through healthcare referrals and individualized exercise support.
- The Exercise is Medicine® On Campus Referral Program connects eligible students with fitness and well-being resources to help them become more physically active. Students may be referred to the program by Student Health Services based on their individual health needs. Once referred, students will complete a brief intake process with Recreation & Well-Being and be connected with a qualified personal trainer.
- Participants will receive individualized exercise guidance, support, and resources designed to help them build healthy, sustainable movement habits.
