Pediatric Infectious Diseases

Residents and medical students will be exposed to the Pediatric Infectious Diseases division's two clinics: the Special Immunology Clinic and the Infectious Diseases Clinic.

This Special Immunology Clinic is held three times per week for patients (infants, children and mothers) with HIV/AIDS. Patients can work with a social worker or nutritionist or consult with family medicine and maternal-fetal medicine healthcare professionals.

The Infectious Diseases Clinic, held twice a week, sees over 600 patients annually. Patients are referred by community physicians for infectious disease-related problems.

Inpatient services include the treatment of cystic fibrosis, infectious diseases and HIV/AIDS.

This division participates in research focused on gastroenteritis viruses.
