The First-Year Service Experience (FSE) is designed to give incoming ODU students the chance to move in early, meet their participating peers and upperclassmen site leaders, and engage in their new community by performing service in the Hampton Roads with their fellow Monarchs.
Live & engage with other students who have similar academic, professional, and/or co-curricular interests.
The Office of Leadership & Learning supports the development of civically engaged leaders through living-learning communities, service-learning and civic engagement, and leadership development programs.
Students who participate in Leadership & Learning programs will:
- Develop a stronger sense of belonging and community at ODU
- Engage in self-reflection to better understand oneself and the world around them
- Develop key leadership competencies necessary for today's workforce and global citizenship
- Serve the local community through service-learning experiences, civic engagement, and application of the social change model of leadership development
