Trying to get into a teacher preparation or certification program? Praxis® Core Academic Skills Tests measure academic skills in reading, writing and mathematics. These tests were designed to provide comprehensive assessments that measure the skills and content knowledge of candidates entering teacher preparation programs.
Old Dominion University Praxis Core Prep Classes include expert instruction, a proven format, all required course materials, and online support resources in one convenient, affordable package. ODU offers two core test preparation courses: Praxis® Core Math and Praxis® Core Verbal. Prepare for the Praxis® Core with the only Praxis Prep Class in Hampton Roads offered by ODU. We will help you improve your skills, confidence, and score, all of which increase your chance of admission into the teacher preparation program of your choice!
The Praxis® Core Math
The Praxis® Core Math test assesses basic mathematical skills and operations and measures critical thinking skills. The Praxis Core Math test is required or accepted for admission into many teacher prep programs and for teacher certification in most states.
The Praxis® Core Verbal
The Praxis® Core Verbal test assesses reading comprehension and written communication skills. The Praxis Core Verbal test is required or accepted for admission into many teacher prep programs and for teacher certification in most states.

ODU's Praxis Core Prep Classes are offered live-online, giving you the option to choose the schedule that works best for you. Enjoy the flexibility of attending class from anywhere or at any time. Our virtual classroom provides you with the opportunity to interact in real-time with our expert instructors and to re-watch the recordings of your class sessions at your convenience for up to 30 days after the course ends.
System Requirements
ODU's live-online Praxis Core Prep Class is offered online using Adobe Connect, a free browser plug-in. You need only a high-speed internet connection and speakers or headphones.
Course materials will be delivered directly to your home. We recommend registering at least four (4) business days in advance of the class start date to ensure timely delivery of your student package.

Refund Policy
To withdraw from a course you must send a request in writing to credentialingcenter@odu.edu seven (7) days prior the start date of the course. Failure to attend a course does not constitute withdrawal. Course registration fees, less a $50 processing fee will be refunded to your credit card. There are no refunds once the class has begun.
Late withdrawals of six (6) days or less before the class begins, will result in the student being charged the $50 processing fee, as well as charges for books and/or other course material fees.
