Our faculty provide students in our medical and health professions programs with a comprehensive knowledge of pathology of disease, the fundamentals of the anatomical sciences, molecular and cell biology, microbiology and immunology, and an integrated understanding of the physiological, pharmacological and biochemical approaches to disease management.
One of the primary functions of this division is to provide instruction for the Preclerkship Phase of the MD Curriculum.

We have created a unique ultrasound curriculum for medical students that has expanded our educational mission and gained national recognition.
Innovative classroom teaching
Our faculty use innovative classroom techniques and creative methods to help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Faculty within the division research and publish on the effects of different teaching methods on student learning skills and have developed programs to enhance student success.
