Leadership Developmental Exercises (LDX)

The Leadership Development Exercise or LDX is a weekend long exercise where the entire Battalion goes out to Fort Story or Fort Eustis to conduct training. Formerly known as Field Training Exercise (FTX), the cadets develop their critical thinking skills as well as their leadership capabilities throughout a series of different training exercises and obstacles along the way. The LDX happens once a semster. A typical LDX will consist of Land Navigation training, Platoon Operations, Ruck Marches, and obstacle courses. The LDX is fun event where the cadets all have a great time and every cadets receives hands on training. If interested in attending, be sure to talk to our instructor.

Joint Field Training Exercise (JTX)

The Joint Field Training Exercise is a weekend long exercise where the entire Battalion goes out to Fort Eustis to conduct joint training with neighboring university's ROTC programs. During JFTX, the cadets develop their critical thinking skills as well as their leadership capabilities in joint-integrated units. The JFTX happens once during the Spring semester. A typical JFTX consists of Land Navigation training, Platoon Operations, and Ruck Marches. If interested in attending, be sure to talk to your instructor.

Land Navigation Field Training Exercise (FTX)

The Land Navigation Field Training Exercise is a single day exercise where the entire Battalion goes out to Fort Eustis to conduct Land Navigation training. During Land Navigation FTX, the cadets develop and practice their land navigation skills at the Basic and Advanced land navigation course.
