Faculty-Led Programs

Congratulations on the acceptance of your application to study abroad in a faculty-led program. We hope that you will have a wonderful and rewarding experience abroad.

Below you will find information on important next steps in you are participating in an ODU faculty-led program. The information provided on this page is not meant to be exhaustive. Always check with the program coordinator in the Office of Study Abroad to ensure that you have completed all the necessary steps that are required for your study abroad experience.

All short-term programs will have at least one mandatory pre-departure orientation session (and in some cases several classes). These meetings are an essential part of the course/program and attendance is mandatory for all participants. We will contact you once orientation and any other meetings for the course/program have been scheduled.

Payment information can be found online in ODUAbroad. If you have any questions about payments, please contact us.

It is critical that you apply for a passport (if you do not already have one that will be valid for six months beyond your return date) as soon as you sign up for the program in order to obtain it in sufficient time to participate in the program and/or obtain any necessary visas.

You will provide our office with your passport information (including a scanned copy) via a questionnaire on ODUAbroad. We need this information early in the process because names on airilne tickets must match names as they appear in one's passport or you will not be allowed to travel internationally. For information on applying for a passport stop by our office or use the link to the State Department's website.
