Hometown: Trujillo, Peru
Medical school: Universidad Nacional de Trujillo
Why did you choose EVMS? I chose EVMS because of its strong reputation for excellent internal medicine training and its upcoming cardiology fellowship program. The autonomy residents gain here is invaluable, as confirmed through my research and conversations with current residents. Its affiliation with Old Dominion University and the opportunity to work with cardiologists at Sentara Heart Hospital offer an outstanding environment for research and academic growth. Lastly, the strong sense of camaraderie among residents and the beautiful city of Norfolk made EVMS the ideal place for my training.
Future goals: My ultimate goal is to become a cardiologist specializing in heart failure and lead research projects in this field.
