Rising senior Jennifer Burdette’s collaborative research focuses on pharmaceuticals and infections.
Associate Professor Erin Purcell teaches and does research at Old Dominion University's Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Purcell's area of research focuses on signal transduction pathways in Clostridoides difficile (C. difficile) which is a human pathogen that causes damage to the colon and can be fatal.
Ashley Boullt, an undergraduate in the Purcell lab, won a $1000 Undergraduate Research Award from the Virginia Academy of Sciences at their 2025 Fall Undergraduate Research Meeting.
