The Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology’s location in Norfolk, Virginia, and its wide range of academic programs position the college to make a strong impact in the region and across industry. By offering degrees in both engineering and engineering technology, the college provides multiple pathways to engineering careers for nontraditional students, working professionals and military service members.
The Batten College’s student body includes a well-balanced mixture of recent high school graduates, community college transfers, part-time adult learners, active-duty military members and veterans. This diversity of backgrounds and perspective enriches the educational experience for everyone.
Located in the Hampton Roads region, the college is close to major maritime, military, government and industrial organizations, including NASA Langley Research Center, Jefferson Lab, the U.S. Navy, HII Newport News Shipbuilding and General Dynamics. These connections provide collaborative opportunities for students and faculty.
The college also contributes to the region’s workforce. One-third of Batten College graduates remain in Hampton Roads, and more than half stay in Virginia.
