ODU MLIS candidate, Brittany Bowser, was recently published in the latest issue of Knowledge Quest. Bowser's article discusses the importance of the school library as a third space for learning. Topics discussed include the need for the school library's third space to expand into cyberspace; focus to promote awareness of school librarianship; and the need for school librarians to prioritize marketing themselves and their instruction.

 

In addition to being a MLIS student at ODU, Bowser is also a certified reading specialist and former classroom teacher with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University. She is additionally a member of ALA, AASL, and VAASL.
