Dr. Cynthia Tomovic, Professor, STEM Education and Professional Studies, engages her students from around the world in her Leadership class at Beihang University, Beijing, China. "Like I tell my students in the US, organizations are looking for recruits with technical prowess who demonstrate a potential for leadership development because they know that leadership makes a difference in organizational success," according to Dr. Tomovic. Formerly known as Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA), Beihang is a world-renowned science and engineering research and educational institution that plays major roles in computer science, electronics, electrical engineering and systems engineering. As Visiting Professor, Dr. Tomovic reminds her students from China, Italy, South Sudan, France, Singapore, Pakistan, Spain, Morocco, that "businesses and industries world-wide are experiencing, and continue to project, a talent shortage." More than 400 overseas students participated in Beihang's 2018 Summer Institute.
