The Program prepares individuals for careers in the field of public health, incorporating knowledge and skills that can be utilized in healthcare management, population-based research, and the community practice of public health. Students complete both didactic and experience-based courses, culminating in a community organization-based Practicum that provides students the ability to combine their classroom-based learning with "hands-on" public health projects.

Some of the best aspects of the program are that students complete both didactic and experience-based courses. Classes are taught during three terms each year and can be completed in two years of full-time study. Courses are offered in a traditional classroom setting and online for all students.

The Program will benefit health professionals who are or will be working in private, government, or community organizations with the following responsibilities: assessing health status or needs in populations, designing and implementing programs, managing administrative functions, conducting program evaluation and outcomes research, developing coalitions to meet community needs, marketing health services, analyzing the epidemiology of specific diseases, and measuring or assuring the quality of healthcare and public health services and products.

Global Environmental Health Scientists and Professionals:

• are employed by national and local governments, the uniformed services, and not-for-profit public and private sector organizations
• work with international organizations to address global environmental health agendas
• become familiar with environmental health challenges in the U.S. and around the world
• study a broad range of 21st century public health issues such as health and food safety, foodborne illnesses, air and water quality, hazardous materials, disaster preparedness, risk assessment, sea level rise, climate change and environmental health policy.

Health Behavior Scientists and Health Promotion Professionals:

• are active in community health improvement and behavioral health research
• are successful health educators, community health planners and program evaluators
• work in the public and private sectors
• serve as health promotion leaders, directors and managers and behavioral health scientists in academic, government, private industry and private practice settings
• work to prevent disease and injury and promote healthy behaviors through education, communication, research, and publication

Applied Epidemiology and Public Health Data Analytics professionals are employed as:

Entry Level Epidemiologist, a Statistical Analyst, a Research Analyst, a Health/Clinical Data Science Researcher, a Data Manager, Health Analytics Specialist, and an Infection Control Professional.
