Are you curious about undergraduate research and creative works? Have you wondered how you can get involved or if it’s the right fit for you? Join us for a dynamic Lunch & Learn Event featuring a panel discussion aimed at debunking common myths about undergraduate research and creative works, such as:

  • "Research is only for science majors."
  • "Only students with top GPAs can participate in research."
  • "Undergraduates cannot contribute meaningfully to research or creative works projects."
  • "Undergraduate research and creative works is only for students pursuing a Ph.D."

This event, co-sponsored by the Institute for Coastal Adaptation and Resilience (ICAR) and the Office of Undergraduate Research at Old Dominion University, will feature:

  1. Panel Discussion: Hear from inspiring panelists who will share personal experiences and insights to dispel these myths and empower students from all disciplines.
  2. Overview of Research Opportunities: Learn about undergraduate research and creative works opportunities at ODU, including those specific to ICAR.
  3. Q&A Session: Get answers to your questions about getting started and making the most of research and creative works opportunities.

Lunch will be provided for attendees! Don’t miss this chance to engage, learn, and discover new possibilities.

RSVP Today! Spots are limited, so please confirm your attendance by Friday February 7th, 2025.

For questions or additional information, feel free to contact the Director of Undergraduate Research, Dr. Orlando Ayala, at oayala@odu.edu.
