Supporting ODU Safety with Security Technology Services

The Security Technologies Services Unit (STS), in support of the Department of Public Safety (DPS) mission, is committed to enhancing campus safety using technology and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles to provide a safe place for the campus community to learn, work, and live. This is accomplished by using best practices and methodologies, campus surveys, state-of-the-art equipment, and promoting officer safety techniques.

The Security Technology Services Division within the Department of Public Safety has the primary responsibility for disseminating and implementing policies and procedures in the use, installation, and monitoring of the Safety and Security Camera program and ensure the University is consistent with the highest standards and procedures.
