If you have property that needs to be picked up from the ODU Police Department, you can schedule a time by contacting us at 757-683-4979 during regular business hours. It is always best to call ahead to ensure that you will be able to get your property as access to property is limited to authorized personnel only.
It is the ODU Police Department’s policy to ensure that public records in the department’s custody are maintained and managed as required by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. The ODU Police Department Records Unit places a high priority on efficient, effective, and economical management of public records to ensure that information is available when and where it is needed, in an organized and efficient manner, and in an appropriate environment.
Hours of Operation:
Tuesday – Friday | 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (closed for lunch 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm)
Public records requests shall be accepted in writing, by electronic mail, by telephone, by facsimile, or in person. While a request is not required, we request the Record Request Form be completed as it will help the Records Unit provide a more accurate response in a shorter period of time.
