Be amongst the first attendees to our brand new annual series- The Robert C. Nusbaum Visiting Professorship in Law, Medicine, and Medical Ethics.
The objective of the Robert C. Nusbaum Visiting Professorship in Law, Medicine, and Medical Ethics is to invite esteemed experts in those fields to expand the knowledge base of our students, residents, faculty, community faculty, and staff, together with the larger community on an array of topics such as informed consent and refusal of treatment, the clinical relationship, medical research, human reproduction, the concept of rights and the elimination of systemic racism and discrimination in the delivery of medical care. Mr. Nusbaum was passionate in his support of the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine from its conception, loved discussing medical ethics, fought racism and discrimination, and promoted equality throughout our society. This series is supported by the Allison J. and Ella W. Parsons Fund of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation.
We are pleased to be welcoming Audiey C. Kao, MD, PhD as the inaugural speaker. Dr. Kao is the Vice President, Ethics Group and Editor In Chief, Journal of Ethics at the American Medical Association. He will be presenting on “Bias and Trust in Clinical Decision Making”. See attached flyer for objectives!
