Tickets are required for all guests. Graduates do not need a ticket to participate in Commencement. 

Eligible graduating students may request up to the maximum number of guest tickets established for their ceremony. While the Commencement office strives to fulfill each request, ticket allocations may be adjusted based on the number of graduating students. Students will be notified by email if the maximum ticket allocation changes.
 

How to Get Tickets

Guest tickets are available only to eligible graduating students who have:

Ticket Policies

  • Current ODU students attending Commencement as guests must have a standard guest ticket provided by an eligible graduating student.
  • Children over age 2 must have a ticket.
  • No additional tickets will be distributed beyond the established allocation.

Do Not Buy or Sell Commencement Tickets!

  • Selling and purchasing Commencement tickets is prohibited.
  • Allegations of unauthorized selling or purchasing of tickets may be referred to the Office of Student Accountability & Academic Integrity (OSCAI) for review of applicable violations.

Need Additional Tickets?

Students who need additional tickets are encouraged to check with classmates to see if they have tickets they do not need.

For assistance, contact the Chartway Arena Box Office at 757-683-4444. The Box Office may be experiencing a high volume of inquiries, but your ceremony tickets will remain reserved while you work to access and claim them.
