In coordination with the Provost's Office, the Center for Learning and Teaching regularly holds a series entitled Provost's Conversations on Teaching and Learning (PCTL). These conversations are intended to provide faculty with opportunities to share, think, and reflect about a wide range of teaching and learning issues.

In November 2015, professors Dr. Mark Havey and Dr. Charles Hyde, along with Planetarium Director Justin Mason, led a panel discussion about teaching philosophies in physics. Topics ranged from a student centered learning environment in our quantum mechanics courses, to new technology developed for laboratory experiments, to using the planetarium as an engaging location for astronomy.
