Old Dominion University Libraries are pleased to announce the addition of Abbie Basile as the new Engineering and Physical Sciences Librarian and Lucy Rush as the new Instructional Services Librarian.

Abbie previously worked for Tidewater Community College as the Library Coordinator from 2014 to 2017. She was the Sciences Librarian at University of Mary Washington from 2010 to 2013. She has her BA in Philosophy and her MLS from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In her new role, Abbie will be responsible for developing and delivering library services, including research assistance, instruction, and collection development, to the students and faculty in engineering and the physical sciences.

Lucy, a familiar face, has served as the Education Librarian at Old Dominion University Libraries since 2012. She received her MLIS from the University of South Carolina and MME from Shenandoah University. In her new role, Lucy will be responsible for coordinating the instruction program, continuing to integrate information literacy into the ODU curriculum, managing instruction assessment, providing formal and informal instruction, and developing instructional tools for the Old Dominion University community.

"I am excited to welcome Abbie, particularly with her background in supporting engineering and sciences, to ODU," said George Fowler, University Librarian. "Lucy excelled in her former role and I know that she will do the same in this one."
