After two years of hard work implementing recommendations from current and prospective students and their families, alumni, faculty/staff and external constituents, we are delighted to announce Wave 1 of Old Dominion University’s newly designed website, launched Monday morning.
Initiated in fall 2020, the ODU Website Redesign Project incorporated feedback from many rounds of interviews and focus groups with stakeholders to develop a website that we feel provides a better experience for all visitors and users. We have created a mobile-first, responsive design that speaks to our target audience and an accessible and user-centric design to make sure we are maintaining the forward-focused ideals of the University.
Among our primary objectives were:
- Creating a more compelling experience for site users, especially prospective students.
- Guiding visitors to their desired destinations with a user experience that encourages taking action.
- Communicating key messaging from the University more effectively.
- Improving Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
- Creating a better-organized information architecture.
We encourage you to explore many of our website enhancements with the launch of our Wave 1 pages. We’re confident you’ll find that the revamped digital entryway to our University provides a more modern and cohesive user experience to tell the Monarch story to the world. We look forward to continuing that forward momentum with the launch of each additional wave.
We thank the Website Redesign Project stakeholders for their guidance and feedback during this process and the Project Team for developing the new site. For more information about this project, please visit the Website Redesign Project website.
