The Power of Peer Connection

Students are often the people other students turn to first. Peer health education harnesses the power of those connections by preparing students to share reliable information, facilitate conversations, connect peers with resources, and promote health and well-being across the ODU community.

The Office of Health Promotion supports a campus-wide approach to peer health education through training, certification, collaboration, and opportunities for students to put their skills into practice.

The Peer Health Education Network brings together trained peer educators from across ODU to learn from one another, share ideas, collaborate on initiatives, and strengthen student well-being through a coordinated approach to peer education.
Network members have opportunities to:
  • Participate in shared trainings
  • Exchange best practices and resources
  • Collaborate on campus-wide initiatives
  • Build leadership and peer education skills
  • Connect with peer educators across departments

The Office of Health Promotion partners with campus departments to support high-quality peer health education through training, consultation, collaboration, and certification.
