The ODU Institute for Coastal Adaptation & Resilience (ICAR) posted our Request for Proposals for the Coastal Adaptation & Resilience Multidisciplinary Action (CARMA) Seed Funding Intramural Program.  You can view and apply for this funding opportunity at the ODU Division of Research and Economic Development InfoReady webpage. The proposal deadline is Monday, December 8.
 
This seed funding opportunity provides up to four awards of up to $25,000 each during the 2025/26 academic year to support scholarly activity and research partnerships involving tenured and tenure-track faculty and research scientists. The award may be increased by $6,000 to a total of $31,000 if there is a commitment to engage and employ an undergraduate student in the research program for one semester. The CARMA seed funding aims to position a team for a successful large multidisciplinary extramural funding application.
 
Funding priorities for AY 2025/26 will be given to projects that include aspects related to the application in four areas:  
  • Artificial intelligence for applied coastal adaptation and resilience research
  • Coastal hazards and human health
  • Anthropogenic influences on coastal environments, including emerging contaminants and microplastics
  • Adaptation & resilience communications.
