ODU Libraries welcome you to a virtual evening of remembrance on October 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Explore a composition that melds both art and social justice by urging listeners to never forget the tragedy of the Holocaust's youngest victims through music. The incredibly moving work entitled "Poems From the Holocaust" was written by Composer Allan Blank and based upon children's poetry found at the Jewish concentration camp of Terezin after its liberation in 1945. Performers include Emily Russell (Vocals), Rebecca Willett (Piano), and Chris White (Double Bass).

Please click here to register, and join us for opening remarks by Brian Payne, Vice Provost of Academic Affairs, and Amy Milligan, Program Director for the Institute of Jewish Studies & Interfaith Understanding. During the remembrance, panelists will share their perspective and expertise on the composition and this significant time in history!
