ODU Libraries encourage the Monarch community to visit our digital collections of Martin Luther King Jr. and observances from years past. Assassinated in 1968, the civil rights leader inspired generations to continue working toward fairness and equality. Please click here for an historic snapshot of his influence on others.

**ODU will hold its 36th annual Martin Luther King Jr. observance virtually on January 21, which is open to the University community and the general public. Kenny Alexander, Norfolk's first Black mayor and a graduate of ODU, will attend as the guest speaker.
