Research Development:Limited Submissions & Opportunities

Some funding opportunities are "limited submissions," meaning the funder sets a limit on the number of grant proposals that can be submitted by the university within a given period of time. To ensure researchers do not invest time developing proposals that cannot be submitted, the Office of Research coordinates limited submissions from ODU when neccesary.

When researchers within the same college express interest in a limited submission, the Office of Research will involve the dean of that college in decision-making; however, if researchers from more than one college are involved, the Office of Research determines which proposal(s) will go forward, typically by holding an internal competition.

Potential applicants to limited submissions are asked to submit concept papers based on specific guidelines for that program.
