Dr. Karen Sanzo was selected to be the DCEPS nominee for the 2023 SCHEV Outstanding Faculty Award. The Outstaning Faculty Awards are "the Commonwealth's highest honor for faculty at Virginia's public and private colleges and universities. These awards recognize superior accomplishments in teaching, research and public service." Each college at ODU nominates one person plus one university early career member (Rising Star) for consideration for approximatlely 12 winners at the state level. Dr. Sanzo was nominated for her nationally recognized work in the area of educational leadership and cohort initiatives. She joins other ODU nominees such as Dr. Luisa Igloria, Poet Laurate of Virginia, and Dr. Alex Gurevich, an innovator in superconductivity.
