Dear Colleagues,
On Tuesday night, President Broderick and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Augustine Agho hosted the Annual Faculty Awards and Retirement Dinner.
I am delighted to share that two individuals from the Darden College of Education received University awards, including:
Dr. Narketta Sparkman-Key, Assistant Professor of Counseling and Human Services
Kate Broderick Award for Excellence in Inclusive Education
Nola Nicholson, Academic Program Advisor, Career and Advising Resource Center
Excellence in Advising in the Primary Role Award
We also had various faculty who were nominated for other University awards including, Dr. Judith Dunkerly-Bean and Dr. Helen Crompton from the Department of Teaching & Learning, Dr. Justin Haegele from the Department of Human Movement Sciences, and Dr. William Owings from the Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership.
Dr. Crompton was also recognized for being the 32nd SCHEV Outstanding Award Winner for Old Dominion University. Four faculty received special recognition and honors from Provost Agho for their contributions to research, teaching and service, including:

Retiring faculty and administrators acknowledged for the impact of their contributions included Dr. Sharon Judge, Professor of Communication Disorders and Special Education, and Dr. Margaret Shaeffer, former Interim Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
To conclude the evening, Provost Agho presented service awards to honor the following people for reaching various milestones in their years of service to the university:
