Kelly S. Rippard, Ph.D., is an experienced instructional designer, curriculum specialist, English educator, and senior lecturer in instructional technology. She has both a BA and MA in English, a second MS in Secondary Education, and a PhD in Education. During her doctoral studies, she focused on curriculum and instruction, instructional design technology, and research methods. Her current research areas include technology methods and practices for pre-service teachers, using AI in the classroom, and multicultural education.

Dr. Rippard has taught over 2000 pre-service teachers about instructional technology methods at the undergraduate and graduate level. During her career, Dr. Rippard has earned multiple awards including the VDOE Teacher of Promise, Most Inspiring Faculty Award, Kaufman Honor, the John R. Broderick Diversity Champion Award, and the NEA advisor of the year award. Professionally, Dr. Rippard is also ISTE, QM, and VoiceThread certified.

Dr. Rippard currently serves on the editorial review boards for the Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education journal and the Journal of Technology and Teacher Education and has presented research over 30 times at local, state, and national conferences. She also regularly works as an instructional designer, helping other colleges and universities develop undergraduate and graduate courses in instructional technology.
