Keith Philbrick

Keith Philbrick, a native of Fort Fairfield, Maine, earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oral Roberts University and a Master of Music Education degree from Old Dominion University. Mr. Philbrick’s professional experiences include thirty-plus years as a woodwind performer and instructor. During his twenty-six year career with Army Bands, Mr. Philbrick was a featured performer, leader, and instructor including stints with the Jazz Ambassadors of the U.S. Army Field Band, Washington, DC, the U.S. Army Europe Band and Chorus, Heidelberg, Germany, the NATO Band, Naples, Italy, the Continental Army Band, Ft. Monroe, Virginia and the Navy School of Music. Additionally, Keith has performed with the Virginia Symphony Pops, Virginia Opera, the American Saxophone Quartet, and on recording and international tours with the Metro Big Band. Mr. Philbrick has also been privileged to perform with numerous name artists including Mel Torme, Tony Bennett, Barry Manilow, Natalie Cole, Rosemary Clooney, Wayne Newton, Marvin Hamlisch, Johnny Mathis, Glen Campbell, Lou Rawls, the Temptations, the O’Jays and jazz artists Lionel Hampton, Diane Schuur, Frank Foster, Tommy Newsom, Manhattan Transfer, Bobby Shew, and Terell Stafford.In addition to his teaching position at Old Dominion University, Mr. Philbrick is on the jazz faculty at the Virginia Governor’s School for the Arts. He currently is a featured performer with Skylark, Virginia Symphony Presents Jazz, the Roy Muth Big Band, national Broadway touring shows, and Virginia Musical Theater.
