The Federal Work Study Program is a part-time on-campus job for undergraduate and graduate students. This program provides an opportunity to earn money while completing work related to your course of study.

LEAP

The Learn and Earn Advantage Program (LEAP) is available to eligible ODU undergraduate students. It is an on-campus work program that provides part-time work for students. This is an opportunity to gain valuable job-related skills with the job hours usually averaging 10-15 hours per week.

If you are interested in the Learn and Earn Advantage Program, please contact Career Development Services for information on how to apply for LEAP and how to be placed at the Center for Bioelectrics.

Requirements for the LEAP program:

  • Enrollment in and successful completion of the UNIV 130 Workplace Skills course in the first semester of the LEAP program
  • Must remain in good academic standing and receive positive job evaluations from their immediate LEAP supervisors each semester

Trailblazing Research

Trailblazing Research in Bioelectronics offers students the opportunity to develop and acquire skills in biomedical research and information literacy through active involvement in ongoing research programs or in research projects under the supervision of a faculty mentor. Experiences may include but are not limited to performing experiments, gathering and analyzing information to develop proposals, quantitative and qualitative data collection, statistical analysis, writing reports, and presenting results. Available research projects/programs will vary each semester.

To get course credit for research REGISTER for Honors Course HNRS 226: Trailblazing Research in Bioelectronics is available to students in the Perry Honors College. Eligible students must have permission from the Honors College Dean to be enrolled in this course.
