We are pleased to announce that the prestigious Evon-Broderick Award is now open to currently enrolled sophomores and juniors. Please take a moment to review the information below and encourage eligible students to apply.
The Evon-Broderick Award is one of the University’s most distinguished honors. In 2011, Old Dominion University’s 8th President Emeritus, John R. Broderick, and First Lady Emerita, Kate Broderick—along with family members who chose to remain anonymous—established and endowed this award in honor of their mothers, Joan Evon and Ellen Broderick.
This esteemed honor recognizes ODU students who, like the award’s namesakes, exemplify a strong commitment to service and civic engagement through outstanding leadership and meaningful contributions to both the University and the surrounding community. Recipients represent the very best of Monarch citizenship and are awarded a monetary gift.
Application Requirements:
- All components of the application packet must be emailed to deanofstudents@odu.edu no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 4, 2026. Materials submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
