Edgar Allan Poe is famous for ravens, gloomy mansions, and tragic figures, but what happens when we read him through a different lens?

At this pop-up event with Norfolk Public Library and the Women gender and equity center, we’ll explore Poe’s work through themes of gender, power, mental health, and queer possibility. Together, we’ll ask:

  • Who gets to live, speak, and love in Poe’s stories?

  • What voices are missing?

  • What changes when we rewrite the narrative?

Stop by to celebrate Poe’s birthday, engage with new interpretations, and rethink a classic author in unexpected ways. No prior knowledge required, just curiosity.
