We are reaching out for your support with a community-engaged research initiative led by Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) faculty and MD students, titled Community Health Resources and Needs Assessment (CHRNA) among Asian and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in Eastern Virginia.

This EVMS IRB-approved study (IRB #21-09-EX-0213) uses a mixed-methods approach, combining a community survey and in-depth interviews, to better understand the health needs and priorities of local AAPI populations in the Hampton Roads and Eastern Shore regions.

We are currently recruiting adults of Vietnamese ancestry (ages 18–85) to participate in one-on-one interviews, lasting approximately 30–45 minutes, during July 2025. The goal is to amplify the voices of this underrepresented community and inform future efforts to reduce health disparities. Participation is voluntary, and each participant will receive a $25 Amazon gift card as a token of appreciation.

We invite and encourage members of the Vietnamese community to take part, and we would be especially grateful for your help in sharing this opportunity with colleagues, students, and community members of Vietnamese descent.
