As more people come to identify as neurodivergent (a term that encompasses a variety of conditions, including Autism, ADHD, sensory processing issues, auditory processing disorders, dyslexia, etc), it is important to learn about how that can impact a person's experiences and worldviews.

The Neurodivergent Panel, hosted Thursday, April 17th from 4-6:30 (open house) in the Newport News/Hampton room in the Webb Center is a great opportunity to better understand neurodivergent individuals at the university and in the local community. Attending events like this can help us better understand, teach, and collaborate with both students and peers identifying as neurodivergent and those identifying as neurotypical but who may have non-traditional needs.

This panel features Senior Lecturer Professor Thomas Kennedy of the Computer Science department, a Subject Matter Expert with Akima Systems (ODU '24), a current ODU undergrad majoring in Applied Mathematics, an ODU PhD student in the Department of Human Movement Studies & Special Education, the Founder and Executive Director of the 757 Creative ReUse Center, a local 501(c)3 non-profit organisation with the mission of reducing waste and increasing creativity, and a Boutique and Retail Sales Associate for the 757 ReUse Center.
