The ODU Symphony Orchestra still has openings for the Spring 2025 semester, especially for violin, oboe, and bassoon. Highlights for the spring include Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade (February 23), as well as Brahms's German Requiem (April 11) with the Old Dominion University Concert Choir. The orchestra meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:30-3:10pm (accommodations made for students with 3pm classes) in the Diehn Center for Performing Arts. Interested students should contact director Dr. Paul Kim at pkim@odu.edu to schedule an audition time during the first week of classes and should prepare excerpts available on the ODU Symphony Orchestra website's rehearsals/auditions page.
The University community is invited to mark their calendars for our concerts this spring: Scheherazade on Sunday, February 23, 3pm at the ODU University Theatre, and Brahms' Requiem on Friday, April 11, 7:30pm at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. See our season calendar for details.
