TITLE: AN EXPLORATORY CASE STUDY OF COMPLEX SYSTEM GOVERNANCE DIAGNOSTICS

ABSTRACT:

The purpose of this study was to conduct an initial diagnosis of the state of Complex System Governance (CSG) using a case study research design.  The research question explored in this research was “what results from the application of Complex System Governance (CSG) diagnostics in an operational setting?”  This research used an exploratory case study to investigate the research question.  The research was designed using a single case, with multiple embedded cases within a business whose prime function is providing services to the United States Government via federal contracts.

Data was collected using email, virtual face-to-face conversations, and a survey that was developed based on the Metasystem Pathologies as described in Katina (2016).  Collected data was incorporated into a case study database, a case narrative was developed for each embedded case, and a cross-case analysis was conducted.  The conclusions and implications of the research were developed and reported in the final chapter.
