Small Group Training

ODU Small Group Training offers a unique opportunity to explore a different dimension of fitness by merging group exercise with personal training. Receive personalized training, encouragement, and opportunities to progress in your fitness skills in 5-week long small group classes with the same fit fam and a motivating coach.

Sign up on the Rec Well App or Portal for a small group training. This semester we are offering: Intro to Weightlifting, Boxing Basics, and Faculty And Staff Strength Training (FASST)! Each program meets twice per week for 5 weeks. You have two chances to sign up for a 5-week session:

Session 1: September 9th - October 11th
Session 2: October 21st - November 22nd

 

About Boxing Basics:

Learn the basic boxing stance, basic footwork, how to throw a punch, and how to make contact with the bag on your kicks. Over 5 weeks, you will gradually building up your stamina, strength, and endurance! Boxing Basics is great for the beginner who wants to give the boxing-style fitness training a shot! This is the perfect class to get started, and we know once you try it, you’ll be hooked.

Cost: $30 Students | $35 SRWC Members

Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. in the Functional Training Space between the two racquetball courts

 

About Intro to Weightlifting:

Intro to Weightlifting is perfect for beginners who want to dive into the world of weightlifting with confidence! Whether you're new to the gym or just looking to brush up on the basics, our fun and friendly instructor will guide you through essential techniques and principles. Get ready to lift, learn, and feel great as you build strength and confidence in a supportive and energetic environment. Come lift with us and discover how empowering weightlifting can be!

Cost: $30 Students | $35 SRWC Members

Wednesdays & Fridays from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. in the Monarch Training Zone on the downstairs Fit Floor

 

About Faculty And Staff Strength Training:

FASST, or Faculty And Staff Strength Training, is a fitness program for ODU faculty and staff! This fun and supportive class focuses on building strength, enhancing overall health, and fostering a positive work/life balance. With a comprehensive and structured workout plan, you'll feel stronger and more refreshed for the day ahead. Plus, it's a great way to connect with colleagues and boost your fitness journey together. We need a minimum of 6 participants to get started, so grab a friend and sign up today!

Cost: $35 Faculty/Staff SRWC Members

Mondays & Fridays from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. in the Functional Training Space between the two racquetball courts
