Contributions of significant time and effort by CEREQ staff should be acknowledged. The amount of facilitation needed should be agreed on as early as possible in the request process.
For published materials, acknowledgement of contributions or authorship should be determined by the amount and extent of the work performed. Basic writing assistance, including editing, should be acknowledged but is not considered authorship.
The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) applies the following criteria for recognizing authorship:
- - Substantial contribution to the conception/design of the work or the acquisition/analysis, or interpretation of data AND
- - Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content AND
- - Final approval of the version to be published AND
- - Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
