Thanks to V-TOP, ODU students have the chance to participate in Teamship Virginia at no cost, an internship program that normally involves significant expense. This structured, virtual program places students into diverse teams to solve real-world challenges provided by Virginia employers. It’s a fantastic alternative internship option for students who are looking for new ways to build professional skills!

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with a small team of peers from across Virginia universities.

  • Solve a real business challenge from a Virginia employer.

  • Develop professional skills employers value most: problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.

  • Present your team’s solutions directly to business leaders during a final pitch event.

Program Schedule (Live on Zoom)

  • Launch Day: Tuesday, October 21 | 4:30–6:00 PM

  • Team Meetings: Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays | October 21 – November 20 | 4:30–6:00 PM

  • Pitch Event: Thursday, November 20 | 4:30–6:30 PM

  • Final Registration Deadline: Friday, October 3 (If you want to participate, register asap!)

Eligibility & Recognition

  • Open to all ODU students registered in a 4-year program.

  • Participation qualifies for zero-credit transcript recognition (UNIV 68/GRAD 668). Get this internship on your transcript!

  • Seats are limited to 36 students statewide across 15 public universities, so spots will go fast. Registration is first come, first served. ACT Fast!

Attendance Policy

Like any other internship or job, you have a responsibility to your team and business partners to be present and engaged for all portions of the Teamship program. You’ll also reap the full benefits of the program when you commit to it in its entirety.

Due to the fast-paced and collaborative nature of Teamship, students who are absent for the Launch Day (day 1), Pitch Event (last day), and/or more than 2 team meetings may be removed from the program.

Only register for sections that you can fully commit to.
