Ashley Boullt, an undergraduate in the Purcell lab, won a $1000 Undergraduate Research Award from the Virginia Academy of Sciences at their 2025 Fall Undergraduate Research Meeting. Her project, Quorum Sensing And The Stringent Response Converge To Regulate Biofilm In C. difficile, explores a previously unknown intersection of two signaling pathways that co-regulate the same phenomenon in the pathogenic bacterium Clostridioides difficile.
