Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is dedicated to improving health through education, research, and patient care. Founded by the Hampton Roads community in 1973 to address a regional physician shortage, EVMS has grown into a nationally recognized academic medical institution grounded in collaboration, innovation, and community service.
Today, EVMS contributes to one of the largest and most comprehensive academic health sciences centers in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
