Pursuant to President Trump's Presidential Proclamation to lower the United States flag, Gov. Ralph Northam on Friday ordered that the flags of the United States and Virginia are to be flown at half-staff over the state Capitol and all local, state and federal buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth to honor the victims of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

The flags will be lowered until sunset Sunday.

The governor also ordered that U.S. and Virginia flags fly at at half-staff from sunrise until noon Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
