ODU-PERSIA (Persian Students International Association) will conduct a memorial for the victims of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, on Kaufman Mall in front of Webb University Center on the campus of Old Dominion University.
All 176 passengers and crew were killed when the plane was shot down by an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran missile.
Speakers will include President John R. Broderick; Roya Ardalan, faculty advisor of the ODU Persia Students International Association; John Ford, professor and Eminent Scholar in the Department of Marketing; Robert Wojtowicz, vice provost and dean of the Graduate School; Mohammad Najand, Iranian faculty member; and the Rev. Canon Win Levis, rector of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Candles will be lit in memory of the victims to close the ceremony.
