What is the VetScan HM5 Hematology Analyzer?
The VetScan HM5 is a fully automated machine used for animal blood
testing. It provides a detailed 22-parameter complete blood count (CBC) with cellular histograms, all controlled through a touch screen. This instrument can be used to analyze 15 species of animals, providing 5-part differentials for 6 species and 3-part differentials for 9 species.
With only a small sample of blood, as little as 2 drops, this instrument can perform a full CBC analysis, making it ideal for small or young animals. Its clear display, easy operation, and fast run times-performing up to 20 samples per hour in 5-part mode, allow users to quickly identify differential cell counts and monitor disease states with minimal effort and little to no training.
- 5-part differentials are available for 6 species: canine, feline, equine, cattle, alpaca, and llama. Run times for 5-part differentials are as low as 4 minutes.
- 3-part differentials are available for 9 species: pig, goat, sheep, rat, ferret, mouse, guinea pig, mouse, rabbit, and primate. Run times for 3-part differentials are as low as 3 minutes.
