The Spencer Educational Foundation (Spencer) has been a long-time supporter and partner of the Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) program at Old Dominion University!
Spencer offers a variety of programs and resources that have benefitted our program, professors, and students, including:
- Scholarships for students pursuing careers in Risk Management, Insurance, or Actuarial Science.
- Course Development Grants for our RMI professors to develop modules on emerging RMI issues for inclusion in our courses.
- Risk Manager on Campus Grants to fund Risk Managers' visits to ODU to interact with our students over multiple days.
- Internship Grants available to companies in our region to hire students for risk management internships.
- General Grants support student-centered initiatives that provide experiential learning opportunities and attract new talent to the industry.
Students: There are three main ways to engage with Spencer directly!
- Apply for a Spencer Scholarship.
- Attend the Spencer Webinar Series (virtual educational & networking sessions).
- Form a team and participate in the annual global Spencer-RIMS Risk Management Challenge.
