50 Years Strong,
50 Years Forward-Focused
In 2026, Old Dominion University will mark the fiftieth anniversary of one of campus’s most iconic buildings, the Patricia W. and J. Douglas Perry Library. To celebrate, the ODU Libraries is embarking on a year-long campaign intended to raise awareness of the myriad ways we inspire and empower the University community to learn, grow, and create. The campaign also looks to raise philanthropic support which will help the Libraries continue our mission for another 50 years and beyond.
The ODU Libraries is an essential part of the teaching, research, service, and outreach mission of Old Dominion University. At a time of great change for the University and for higher education, it is more important than ever for the Libraries to be strategically aligned and focused on the future. The fiftieth anniversary of our primary library building is a great opportunity to consider where we started, how far we’ve come and where we go from here to inspire and empower current and future generations of Monarchs.
