One University. Two Crowns. Endless Possibilities.
At Old Dominion University, we believe graduate education should be intentional, not accidental.
Dual Dominion was created to help students begin planning for graduate education early by connecting academic experiences across undergraduate and graduate study. This allows you to confidently pursue advanced degrees through carefully designed pathways.
Whatever your goal, Dual Dominion provides the roadmap to get you there.
Our Why
We believe every student deserves to see graduate school as a possibility. For many students, graduate school feels like something that happens "later." Or perhaps...Something reserved for someone else.
At Old Dominion University, we believe graduate education becomes attainable when students have access to:
- Clear academic pathways
- Early planning
- Faculty mentorship
- Purposeful advising
- Meaningful experiences
- A community that believes in their potential
Dual Dominion brings these opportunities together to create one intentional journey. Because graduate school isn’t just the next degree. It’s the next chapter of your story.
What is Dual Dominion?
Dual Dominion is Old Dominion University's undergraduate-to-graduate pathway initiative.
The initiative connects undergraduate students with graduate opportunities through intentionally designed academic pathways that allow students to:
- Explore graduate options early
- Receive specialized advising
- Build competitive graduate school experiences
- Understand admission expectations
- Prepare for professional and research careers
- Transition confidently into graduate education
Some pathways allow students to begin graduate coursework while completing their bachelor's degree, while others provide structured preparation for graduate admission following graduation.
