Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization (minimum GPA of 3.0) for financial information students and professionals. The mission of Beta Alpha Psi is to inspire and support excellence by encouraging the study and practice of accounting, finance, business technology and analytics; providing opportunities for service, professional development and interaction among members and financial professionals; and fostering lifelong ethical, social and public responsibilities.

The Data Science and Database Student Club (also known as the Data Club) is dedicated to serving the ODU community at multiple academic levels, including undergraduate, graduate, post-doctoral and visiting researchers, with an interest in data science, data analytics and data infrastructures, including database management systems (DBMS). The club’s mission is to equip members with the necessary skills in data science, data analytics and DBMS to excel in both academic and industry settings.

ODU has a chapter of GIS, which is a national student club that promotes interest in Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science and emphasizes building leadership and network skills. GIS is open to students across campus, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the field. GIS runs a series of industry professional speaker events where students learn various aspects of careers. The club has funding to send students to multiple national and international industry conferences each semester where students learn more about the industry and make contacts that lead to internships and careers.

The Monarch Real Estate Club is open to students across campus, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of real estate. The club, in conjunction with the Harvey Lindsay School of Real Estate, runs a series of guest speaker events as well as regular off-campus site visits. The club allows students to be actively engaged with both the School of Real Estate and the E.V. Williams Center for Real Estate in events such as the annual Real Estate Careers Fair and Hampton Roads Real Estate Market Review.
